Make a film at the Fair!

How fast can you make an award-winning film? We’re looking for the best filmmakers consisting of groups of 3-10 people. Each group will film at the Fairgrounds, then edit and create a short film in a 24-hour period.

Fair Postponement Info

2020 24Hr Film Festival applicants will be contacted by our Special Events Department to arrange participation in our 2021 competition.

New performance applications will be accepted beginning January 2021.

Entry deadline: Monday, April 20, 2020.
Orientation/Filming: Friday, June 26, 2020.
Screening and awards: Saturday, June 27, 2020, Turf Club.

The Fine Print (hidden)

Groups of 3 to 10 people, all of whom must be 16 or older as of June 1, 2020 (cast and crew). Participants must be residents of the United States. Groups must have basic knowledge of video production.

There is no cost to enter this contest.

Participants must register online in advance. Entrants will meet at the Fair in the morning of the contest to receive a theme. They will then have 24 hours to write a script, rehearse, shoot footage, edit and present a finished version for screening the next day.

Best Picture – $1,000 and one class from MasterClass.com
Best Cinematography – $400
People’s Choice – $100
